Speaker 0 00:00:03 The Speaker 2 00:00:23 All right, welcome to the frame center podcast. It's me, Dave and Scott here. And today we got Elizabeth coming up from behind the camera and she's joining us. Uh, we also have Melissa Smith from HaBO broth, from Hanover farmer's market from being a frame center customer. Uh, so we're really excited. We got some awesome stuff to talk about today. Speaker 3 00:00:45 Yeah. We're excited to be here. Yeah. Excited to Speaker 2 00:00:48 Be out front. Yeah. You go listen. A lot of people were, you know, wanted you in front of the camera, Elizabeth. They were, you know, who is this person? So we're excited to have you out, uh, coming up out from behind the camera, going to, we're gonna do a little, uh, sampling of, uh, the bone broth. We wanna talk about bone broth around here leading up to this episode. Speaker 4 00:01:08 Uh, we hyped up that's Speaker 2 00:01:09 Right. Yeah. So, um, so anyway, we got, uh, also, you know, nice tie into the bone broth is the handover farmer's market. Melissa that's is something you spearheaded. Speaker 3 00:01:21 Yeah. So I think for us, when we started the hail bone broth, my husband, Chris and I, we really got entrenched in the farmer's market community, Hingham, Cohasset. We were in Braintree. We started to really, um, a, enjoy the environment of the small businesses, the local communities, the towns. And we are both handover kids. We grew up here. Yeah. We ended up buying a house here. We are raising our children here and we looked at each other and we're like, why doesn't handover farmer's market. Yep. Yeah. Speaker 4 00:01:48 Why travel so far? Something that a lot people want locally Speaker 3 00:01:51 That's right. We needed something to, um, have in our backyard. And funny enough, first person I contacted, um, being a frame center customer also knowing that, you know, you've really represent small business, locally owned. You've been established for many, many years here. I was like, what if we had some sponsors that believe in the same mission we believe in, and here we are. I asked Dave to be a sponsor. He said, yes, no hesitation. And really has continued to help us, you know, share it. We've we've, you've done videos. We, uh, set up a rock, the Speaker 2 00:02:23 Hat daily, you know, frame Speaker 3 00:02:25 Friday. I see the beautiful handover. Farmer's mark hat. Farmer's market hat Speaker 4 00:02:29 On, you got that sign right outside, underneath cars out there. Speaker 3 00:02:31 You just got the sign going. And, and I think too, it just goes back to the fact that, you know, we set up every Sunday. I mean, once a month on Sunday at the handover high school. And then if you look around, you see the logos from people like you, who sponsored, you have your family shows up to shop the market, you have the vendors who show up every Sunday with their products and their produce. And, you know, I really believe we, we decided to put support community as like our tagline for the farmer's market, but that's what it's all about. Yeah. I think it really is about supporting community and small businesses. So I'm very grateful that you said yes, and now we have a market this Sunday. Speaker 2 00:03:07 Yeah. And I'm, you know, I'm excited. I'm not sure basing basically my Sundays are, you know, centered around, uh, hockey schedules. Yes. But, um, I'm hoping to get down there this Sunday, trying to, you know, trying to convince Scott to head down there, maybe Elizabeth, maybe Elizabeth will, uh, Speaker 3 00:03:24 Elizabeth, I could Speaker 4 00:03:25 Get you to looking up, looking up all this, uh, you know, everybody that's, uh, participates in it. I, you know, there's quite a few places I would definitely be shopping at. So it wasn't exactly what I would picture as a farmer's market. You know, you always think roadside stand, just produce and vegetables and fruits and things along those lines. It's like, I don't always need that kind of stuff, but then reading up on it. There's, you know, places that do, uh, Speaker 2 00:03:48 Uh, well, they do bone broad, well, Speaker 4 00:03:50 There's the bone Speaker 2 00:03:50 Bro. Think Speaker 4 00:03:52 That's the start of the hot sauce. That's the one I really gotta stop. And that's the one I'm looking for, but you know, there's a little bit of something for everyone there, which is what I think is nice, you Speaker 2 00:03:59 Know? Yep. Shaved ice for the kids. Speaker 4 00:04:01 Yeah. Shaved ice. That was, my kids will be show than that. They're like, we're going. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:04:04 And then there's towny frozen desserts. Yes. And there's, um, there's these different bakeries there that, um, honey I'm home has amazing scones that Mya loves. And I think too, it's neat. You said that when you show up, I mean, we have over 30 vendors, I think mm-hmm, <affirmative> each Sunday, Speaker 2 00:04:20 Same vendors. Every, every, Speaker 3 00:04:21 Some of them rotate in the cool thing is, is once they locked in, I think they saw the value that Hanover showed up for them. Yeah. Our first market, um, we started it. So this is our second season. There was a line and even I was blown away. It was small marketing. It was a couple social media posting. Like this is, you know, where we are show up. There was a line down the, uh, down the high school driveway. And I'm like, oh my God, people are here. That's awesome. They needed this. They want it. We saw our vision. We had a vision police Speaker 2 00:04:48 Detail. Speaker 3 00:04:48 Right. That's yeah. We have a police detail. Um, yeah, we were a Speaker 4 00:04:52 Legit it too, you know, Speaker 3 00:04:53 It's beautiful. The high school obviously is a lot different than when I went. Um, so the grounds are gorgeous and I think what really, um, people love to is to your point, there's so much to choose from. We have the farms, we have the duck eggs and the vegetables and, you know, especially coming up on peaches and tomatoes. And I think there's probably gonna be plenty of zucchini there Sunday. Oh, that's always good. Speaker 4 00:05:14 Some zucchini bread. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:05:15 But the thing that's neat is that people in new England forget how hard it is, where we live. We're not, you go to Florida and there's, you know, produce everywhere. Everywhere. Yeah. We have to be, um, really conscious that when the may and June kick off people are like, oh, where's the it's whatever the season brings mm-hmm <affirmative> so it gets better and better as E as each month. So we needed to fill in with the Mrs. Lars who has amazing candy at, of Cohasset or, you know, the other one's hippy Pilgrim. She's outta Halifax. Speaker 4 00:05:45 That's another one I wanna stop. Speaker 3 00:05:46 She's incredible. She's an OG veteran of farmer's market. Speaker 2 00:05:49 Yep. They got a free frame, right? Yes. They got a free, there you go. She's wonderful. I think we got the shaved ice, Speaker 4 00:05:55 The pharma vacant company. Now I actually know them. Yeah. Cause my kid hangs out with his kid. Yeah. See. So it, it, I was like, wait, is this the, yeah, it is. And I had to go through their thing and I'm like, oh, I didn't even know they were at this location. So yeah. It's, it'd be good to stop in and see them when I'm there. Speaker 3 00:06:08 So, and even bonafide though, those, um, yes, we, we did, we, we did create, um, a market that, um, was still dog friendly even though in like the old fashioned rules of farmer's market. Yeah. We couldn't actually have dogs inside the market, but the grounds are so big. So the pet, the pet friendly people still bring their dogs for all the yep. Um, the wonderful treats that the, the dog vendors have, uh, I think for when you show up to, to your point earlier is it's way more than you expect mm-hmm <affirmative>. Um, but we get a lot of questions on Facebook, on Hanover connect. That's like, why don't you have it every Speaker 2 00:06:43 Sunday? Yeah. Yeah. I saw Speaker 3 00:06:44 Joe Redman. Thank you. He did my addition. He's a Hanover guy. Uh, and I said, Joe, more farmers. Yeah. I said, we'd love to, but the problem is when you're in that, like the hustle that my husband and I have been in for a couple years now with the farmer's market, you're in the second, it's go say may to November. Mm-hmm <affirmative>, it's almost, you're in a market in every town every day. Yeah. And then you have to actually still make your product Speaker 2 00:07:07 Every day too. Yeah. So farmer's market Speaker 3 00:07:09 Full. Yeah. So there's, you know, like we're in, Osterville on Friday. HaBO broth is in, Osterville down the Cape on Friday. We're in Cohasset, Milton and hang, I mean on Plymouth tonight. Yep. Wednesdays are one of the days. I think we officially had off, um, wherein sandwich on Tuesdays Hangam Attleboro Braintree on Saturday. So all of a sudden I looked at my own personal schedule and said, when do we have this handle? A farmer's market? Yeah. So it was one Sunday a month because I, we were like other vendors. Yeah. Speaker 4 00:07:38 I'm sure they're in the same market. Speaker 3 00:07:40 So I try to explain that this is kind of special when it all came together that the vendor said yes, because technically they're all like, oh man, I don't know if I can do another market, but they showed up for us and to support the community. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:07:52 I think it's awesome. You have a limited to Speaker 4 00:07:54 A certain day that you have only people can only come that day. Speaker 3 00:07:57 Destination. We call it a destination. You have to mark your calendar. If it's every Sunday, what do you think you do? Oh, I'll get it next Sunday. I'll go next Sunday. Yeah, Speaker 4 00:08:03 Exactly. Exactly. Speaker 3 00:08:05 So I'm gonna see all special. You guys there right on Sunday. Speaker 4 00:08:07 I'm Speaker 2 00:08:08 Being there. Gonna make the trip up for the, uh, farmer's pocket. Yeah. Speaker 4 00:08:11 What's it one too. It's 11 to two. Speaker 3 00:08:12 Yeah. It's 11 to two to two, so, yep. And it's um, you know, Speaker 2 00:08:16 I think I try to get there a little early <laugh> Speaker 4 00:08:18 Beat de lines. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:08:19 Yeah. Speaker 3 00:08:20 Bring the Cowal you cannot get until you have that Speaker 2 00:08:23 Cow valve. Yeah. So, no, literally the last time I went, I, you know, I only had like a short window, so I was like parked and they're like, there were, weren't letting anybody in. There was, there was a line forming. Yeah. Waiting for. Yeah. Well, I don't know if they, I mean, I know some of this stuff sells out. Yeah. You know, cuz I know that there's like some breads and stuff like that that has on it Speaker 3 00:08:44 Sells out, you know, who sells out a lot. Uh, honey home does his baked goods, but also, uh, we met this great couple out of the bravery farmer's market and it's not your average salsa. Yeah. And I, we always see them and you just see they're wiped out before the market ends. So what there's old school rules with farmer's markets too, that we try to follow pack and go home or they just, well, no, they have to stay. But to your point, people know to get there early, cuz if it sells out, it sells out. Yeah. But also you're really not supposed to do transactions before the bell rings. Yeah. There's like actual, formal, quick time. So we do try to stick to the rules of no transactions, but I'm sure you get a little and bro, before Speaker 2 00:09:21 The bell Speaker 3 00:09:21 Rings, I'm just saying, I'm sure I could, we know a person, some Speaker 2 00:09:26 Of speaking of the bone, bro. You got, yeah, we got you guys ready to give this a, uh, give this a whirl, a show here now. Which one is this one? This is cool. Speaker 3 00:09:33 So we, it might be, um, cooling off a little. So this is the OG. This is the original, the original and um, lost, delicious it the, I think the cool thing about where bone broth kind of originated for us personally is, um, just an Italian kid who was always brought up around low and slow cooking. Um, I think for my husband, it was completely Flo my mother-in-law was a nurse. My father-in-law was the Boston cop. They were never home. And I think he had Turkey sandwiches. Quick meals. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And um, so when he was struggling with like food intolerances and I have a love and a passion for food, it just wasn't connecting. So mm-hmm <affirmative> I kind of wanted him to look at food differently and this is an ancient elixir it's it Speaker 2 00:10:13 Helps, helps withy. Speaker 3 00:10:14 Yeah. It helps with healing, um, any sort of gut issues. And a lot of times it's all about inflammation. So these are all the buzz words right now. People think, well I have X, Y, Z, wrong with me. I'm gonna take a pill. A lot of times it is finding out what the root causes, not actually trying to satisfy what the problem is. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:10:31 Well this pills for pills, right. It just keeps Speaker 3 00:10:35 Going. And it, and it, I think the crazy thing to him was it was so foreign. He, I poured it in a cup and he was like, do I need a spoon? Is this soup? And I'm like, whoa, we were at basic level with him. Yeah. So I think I needed to call it ramen for him to like, actually think about sipping the broth. And it was only until maybe a week later or so he was like, this is really good. And I feel better and what are you gonna do with it? I'm like, what am I gonna do with it? I'm just gonna keep making it. And he's like, no, you should do something with it. So I have a corporate career, 17 plus years. And beginning of my career was all in sales. So I think he just thought instant and he's restaurant business 20 years. Speaker 3 00:11:11 And I like, oh, there you go. Whoa. But the way we figured it out was we'll do it on the weekends. Yeah. We'll just do it when we, and that's how we met the farmer's market community and then side hustle, it's side hustle and also showing my daughter this what you are doing here in a small business, like what it looks like to, to start your own business, what it looks like to be in community with your family and figuring out all the things. And I think for the young kids in the people in the world today, Speaker 2 00:11:36 You're looking at Elizabeth. Yes. The young kids, this is, these Speaker 3 00:11:39 Kids are the next generation of, I can work for myself. Yeah. You know, we had it in our generation where, you know, my dad did his own business for a while, but I think now people like, what can I do with the there's so many opportunities. And when we threw her, she's nine. Now when we put her in the farmer's market community. Yeah. This kid hustled, I don't know how many bracelets she show sold last, last month. She's like my, I made $68. I'm like, like selling those, those I'm like, who bought 'em? She's like, I know 68 people cuz they're a buck, you know? Yeah. So I really was like, okay, maybe I'm not destroying her by dragon or all these farmer's markets. And I'm teaching her. Yeah. Showing her some sort of idea of what else is out there, how to be creative and how hard we work as parents. And I think that's a big Speaker 2 00:12:21 Part. What's the bracelet brand. Oh, we got a name or Speaker 3 00:12:24 Yeah, it was ABC a nice, so it was like Avery Bridget company. Okay. And then my neighbor, she was feeling bad. Somebody else is helping. And so Mary shows up, we have like, it's like talk about a little network of business entrepreneurs going on nine year olds Speaker 2 00:12:37 Hustle. <laugh> Speaker 3 00:12:38 That's the best way hustle, you know? Yeah. So it's been, that's been a kind of a side, um, something Sur that surprised me. That was a positive outcome from, from the beginning. I, the people that grew up in Hanover will no, Gogos, it's now lavishly done. I mean, I used to walk there and get a larger Italian sub with everything Speaker 2 00:12:56 I used to walk there, you walk down here, you know, people walk up there from here Speaker 3 00:13:00 Constantly. So when we were trying to figure out, where are we gonna make this? You know, can't do it in my kitchen anymore. We got so big. And we were like, kind of felt like drug dealers in a sense, cuz we were getting texts like, can I get a bag? I need two more bags. I'm like, Chris, this is beyond our capacity. Yeah. <laugh> and we're leaving stuff on the steps and people are knocking at our door and we have codes now we're like, you need it. Here's the code. Like it got so big that uh, we yeah. Con Speaker 2 00:13:24 Delivery, it got Speaker 3 00:13:25 Delivery. Yeah. Friends deliver it. I got, Chris is out west today. We've got New Hampshire deliveries. We are, he's got a sticker now. That's like, he's the broth mobile. He changed his license plate love. He's like, like he's the man now he's the broth man. But we went, uh, and we actually went back into Gogos it's lavishly done. We started using a commissary kitchen. Yeah. And we started to, um, to grow that way and really change our process. And then we got into, you know, a place where we can make it in bulk and um, did it go it's, it's been amazing. And, and for those who, whether it's the OG or the new flavors we launched, um, we're always coming up with ideas, whether it's mushroom for the vegans Speaker 4 00:14:03 New one was what lemon Speaker 3 00:14:04 Chi. Yep. Lemon, ginger, ginger. How information two, well, three flavors now, which is huge. Um, I used to just make those, uh, personally at home and we figured out a way again, rookies, but learning as we go, like, why don't we add this and, and see if we can scale it to a bigger, um, like cooking process and out came two more flavors. Yeah. And Speaker 2 00:14:30 Did Ginger's great different flavors offer different benefits. Speaker 3 00:14:33 Got it. Yeah. So I think the neat thing, that's a great question. A lot of times we, I take another great surprise that came out of this was all the influx of emails of people. Like I had cancer. It was the only thing I could tolerate during chemo. I mean, I'm talking tears, if I'd get an email, like maybe my husband was right. Like I kind of laughed it off. Like, oh, we'll just sell some broth. And then we started seeing like, I have D diverticulitis or I have inflammation and so much joint pain. I have medic, I was gonna say people that need to be regulate their sugars, people that are on a keto diet because they have, um, you know, some sort of imbalance. I started getting these emails and showing 'em to Chris and saying like, oh my gosh, like, this is really healing people. Like we can't stop now. And so the train just left the tracks and Speaker 2 00:15:18 I feel the same way about free frame Friday. It like, you get a couple. Thank you. Speaker 3 00:15:22 Yeah. Once you start that Speaker 2 00:15:24 Energy out the room Speaker 3 00:15:25 And when you guys started it, um, two and C and you did the free frame Friday, the joy you brought to people in such a dark period. Mm-hmm <affirmative>, that was also not only magic, but also what we needed at that time. Yeah. And we felt the same way. All the farmers' markets started closing down and we felt so bad for people, Chris and I have other jobs. Yeah. We felt so bad that that was their only job. And he's like, what, what can people do? And we all start handover farmer's market was one. I was like, well, it's still outdoors. Let's push hard to create. That's true. Another place for people to sell. Yep. Then the second thing we thought about was just like your kindness piece was like, why don't we continue to spread? And the kindness because instead of people coming to our door, Chris, like I'm going on the road. Yep. I mean, literally Speaker 2 00:16:08 That's where the Speaker 3 00:16:09 Deliveries came out. He started just, we just, we took our website. We didn't even know what we were doing and created a we'll deliver locally. And this guy just went out. I mean, he was laid off during it. So he is like, I might as well do something with my time. There you go. And all of that, just trickled, just like the free frame people, like think they couldn't believe they'd be like tagging us, like this delivery on my steps. And a lot of it was, I have C my uncle has, is sick. Yeah. Somebody's not feeling good. Or I want my immunity. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:16:35 Afraid to. Speaker 3 00:16:35 Yeah. That's what the benefits you asked about the benefits. Yes. It boost immunity. It helps, um, hydrate. It's the whole theory of like mom and your chicken soup. Like what do you do? That's way to fight to cold. Yeah. There you go. Mm-hmm <affirmative> mm-hmm <affirmative> so people would message us like they were, we were calling them, um, COVID care packages. Oh, actually. So they're like, could you create a COVID care package? So one of the schools locally inlay messaged us and said, any family that was out on COVID, they actually created a task force and put hail in as what they delivered. And so Chris was like, where am I going today? I'm like, and it was very private then no one you couldn't tell who had COVID. And so he was like, stealth, like showing up, dropping off COVID care packages and like leaving. And they'd be like, oh, special delivery from Broman. It was awesome though. So just like, you know what you do with free Speaker 2 00:17:22 Frame. Yeah. No, I spreading it. It, I mean, it kind of inspires you to do more. Right. And it makes you really feel, you know, I mean, it's, I mean, I tell, you know, I, I think me and Scott had a talk about it a couple weeks ago and it's like, it just makes you feel like you want to, you know, want do it more and like, selfishly, like, I feel good about it. Yeah. I don't even care if people want the frame. Speaker 3 00:17:42 Yeah. You get, Speaker 2 00:17:43 Yeah. Yeah. Cause like, you know, one of these people is gonna send, you know, you send a bunch this week and like one of those people's gonna send me like a text or a thank you or post something and it's gonna make my day. Yeah. So it's like, it's awesome. You Speaker 3 00:17:54 Know? Yeah. It is. It's just giving back. And also in that sense of receiving, making, knowing that somebody else is like, oh yeah, this is cool. And guess what? The there's studies around this. So it's funny. They're gonna go do something for somebody else. Yeah. What you're doing is that ripple effect. Mm-hmm <affirmative> and that's the same thing about why we said, well, if we can create the handover farmer's market, we're giving somebody else a job. Yeah. We're giving a vendor a space for very affordable. We're offering a sponsorship that helps spread the word of what we love. Yeah. We love your business. So we wanted to continue to support it. So it's like, it's that momentum of what you do once you're in community. Yeah. And after two years of being out community mm-hmm <affirmative> and what we all went through, it was like the perfect time to do all the things to really come forward and be like all, how else can we get creative here? Yeah. Speaker 4 00:18:38 Yeah. That's what they always say too, is the best things come out of necessity. You know? So having that and Speaker 3 00:18:43 Dark days, Speaker 4 00:18:44 So having that spot to fill and having, you know, something that things that positively came out of COVID is always something nice. Yeah. Friday. Yeah. The farmers market, the whole company situation, there is Speaker 3 00:18:55 Even connecting on this level, like podcast. I mean, I was hid to my car, listening to books on audible, trying to get away from my PA my family, I think at times, but also just the ability to connect with others. We got creative, like podcasts were out there, but I think even zooms, we can make fun of 'em all you want. Speaker 4 00:19:11 Yeah. We had a few of those. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:19:12 Yeah. But if you, yeah, we were helping customers through zoom. Yeah. During the shutdown Speaker 4 00:19:16 Dropping off, out front, <laugh> Speaker 2 00:19:17 Zoom you some Speaker 4 00:19:18 Samples, you go unlock the door, bring it in and work on stuff Speaker 3 00:19:21 And even reels and you know, shooting PS, whatever you do to create some sort of, um, kind of awareness that like where, where in this together? We're humans too. We're trying to Speaker 2 00:19:31 Figure out I having fun too fun. Yeah. Yeah. What, what's the, uh, what's the reviews down here. Yeah. Let, Speaker 4 00:19:36 Let's Speaker 2 00:19:37 Give this, are you guys too? Do we need to give him more fresh? Speaker 3 00:19:39 I gonna say you should really get it warm. Speaker 2 00:19:41 Yeah. Freshen. Speaker 4 00:19:42 It's still warm. Speaker 3 00:19:43 Yeah. Is it too? You guys pass it on. So the benefits Speaker 2 00:19:46 We're gonna pull CLA from behind the, uh, behind the camera going to, until we come up with the mushroom version, I'm I'm out. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:19:54 You're out. I had some before I left though, just still it's like a, a hug and a mug. We call it. Speaker 4 00:19:59 I like that. Speaker 3 00:20:00 And, and I think for, like we were saying about the benefits of the different inflammation, collagens a buzzword, whether you're an athlete or not the Tom Brady, uh, kind of idea of amino acids and trying to, uh, elongate or make your life last longer, make your body last longer. It's all about recovery. Yeah. That's exactly what this does. Speaker 4 00:20:20 Definitely warming. Speaker 3 00:20:21 Yeah. And there's potassium electrolytes. That's important. Magne, the things that, um, I mean, trace Speaker 2 00:20:26 Minerals, magnesium is crazy in the trace men. So those are two things that I've been like kinda trying to find like the proper supplements. Cause I'm drinking a lot of water these days and I'm worried about flushing too much out. Yeah. But like trace minerals and magnesium. And you, you read about some of the symptoms yeah. That like, you know, that you get from, you know, lack from lack of magnesium and it's CRA you know, know. Yeah. And you, and then, you know, I see people and I'm like, oh, and I bet you that's, uh, something that you might wanna try. Speaker 3 00:20:52 Yeah. And I think, um, the bone brought this, um, potassium and the trace minerals and the Menino acids. I was adding magnesium. Um, today there's a local girl, uh, woman, uh, her tag name is carton cake. Um, she lives here in Hanover and she does really great. Speaker 2 00:21:09 Uh, which, yeah, I've heard that one before. Speaker 3 00:21:11 Yeah. It's cool. She's doing like an adrenal cocktail that she was talking about. She drinks that bra. So she definitely we've delivered to our door and she talks about the smoothies that she uses with that bra mm-hmm <affirmative>. So that's another weird way if you're not into, like, I saw the latte. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:21:23 What do you think over the club? I Speaker 5 00:21:25 Like it it's like, like I'll drink it because like, I, I drink water a lot. So if I want to supplement my water, I Speaker 3 00:21:31 Would probably good call. Yeah. I like Speaker 5 00:21:32 It. I wish to had a vegan option for you, Dave. Speaker 2 00:21:34 Cause we're getting there. You would probably live Speaker 3 00:21:36 Off of this. Speaker 2 00:21:37 He won, I could use, I could use something other than coffee. I worry something. Although I might lack energy. If I don't have enough caffeine, Speaker 3 00:21:44 The office that will happen, it will help you gain that energy. It'll just really heal. At Speaker 2 00:21:49 Least you're stored, Speaker 3 00:21:49 You know? Yeah, it does. And it, and I think too, the, um, with the collagen, for, uh, and the amino acids, there's an element of sleep in it because it helps with sleep. There's an element of feeling full. So a lot of times, um, you know, we're hangry always. Mm-hmm, <affirmative> where just grabbing because it's there and we're snacking because we can, this just really curbs that appetite, which is awesome. And it's all the macros on it. That's why I was mentioning carrots and cake. Like it hits all the things there's low. There's no sugar, there's no carbs. There's, it's a little bit of protein, but I think two for the, uh, other flavors, we have one with MCT oil mm-hmm <affirmative>, which is great for brain health. Mm-hmm <affirmative>, um, it's healthy fats. And that's another trend that people used to say, like, you don't wanna eat fat. Speaker 3 00:22:32 Fat is good. Good fats are good for coconut oil. Exactly. Yeah. Um, Ric is all the buzz. It is so good for you, but it's kind of hard to like get in food. So it's another way to sneak it in. Um, you can make lattes with it with coconut milk. Um, but the smoothie is for those who are the can't handle, one of our friends says meat tea, can't handle the meat, tea, meat, tea. <laugh> um, you can actually just take it and add it, um, with a collagen or some sort of protein powder that you like. Yep. Add coffee, add a banana. Uh, mix it up, mix it up. Mm-hmm <affirmative> you can, so the, the intent is that you're actually eating it as opposed to taking a supplement. Speaker 2 00:23:10 Is that what they're doing at press that they make? Speaker 3 00:23:12 Yes, you can. They can, uh, we've given them the cool thing about press too. Speaker 2 00:23:15 Another, another farmer's market. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:23:17 They handover family, um, Hanover guy too. And I think the cool thing that when we brought the, um, idea and they're such a strong local business, is that they're all about their, you know, juices and grab and goes. She makes amazing soups. Yep. We were talking about it. Her soup recipes, you can take a block. So I was Speaker 5 00:23:37 Gonna say, it must be a good Speaker 3 00:23:37 Base for you. It is a great base. So that's my wheelhouse. I love to cook. Yeah. So I really incorporated into our family life by my, my nine year. Old's not gonna sit here and share his boom bra with me, but she's gonna eat the tacos that I make. She's gonna eat the meat sauce on Sunday because I take a block and add it. Yeah. So what press can do is that, but they sell it by the cup and um, so Speaker 2 00:23:57 They sell it or they, Speaker 3 00:23:59 They can sell it by the cup and they can sell it by the bag, um, grab and go. Cause they have a nice, you know, freezer section that they can just take that home and we portion it. So we took all the work. Speaker 4 00:24:08 Yeah. It's one cup, right. For per block. Yeah. Yeah. So, cause I was thinking of a couple recipes myself for like a couple of roasts and things that I could Speaker 3 00:24:15 Do use it as. That's great. I too, Speaker 2 00:24:18 I'm just noticing this picture. You and Chris on the back. Oh yeah. Speaker 3 00:24:21 That was time. My kitchen ever looked like that. It was like clean. It's like sparkling, uh, and actually another kid. Oh, Speaker 4 00:24:28 It's not a set shot. Huh? Speaker 3 00:24:29 This is actually no, that's my kitchen. And I said, it's never look like that. It's just, we, you know, so clean. Um, it's funny too. Cuz Andrew, another young guy, a kid growing up here locally on the south shore, took the pictures, super athlete. Uh, and he's out in Alaska right now. I was talking to his wife, uh, off the grid fishing I'm guessing. But he, um, the other conversation that my husband's been having with a lot of these people that have been drinking the broth, we call him like the hail tribe. Is this ice bath. We just got this ice bath. Oh yeah. To live it to our house. Speaker 2 00:24:59 I wanna try that. I, Speaker 3 00:25:00 You welcome over. Yeah. If you get me shooting pucks, you can, you can you Speaker 2 00:25:04 To then come Speaker 3 00:25:05 Try the ice bath. So it's all about the recovery. It's all about helping your body restore. And so he's like a pro at, he can do the three minutes. We got this one where you can UPP the temperature. It's ice less. Yep. It's from edge theory labs. And um, there's a hail code. Speaker 4 00:25:21 It's a standup one. Theo Speaker 3 00:25:22 Chamber. It's a tub. Oh, okay. It's a tub that has, um, hoses connected that actually can cool it and heat it. Oh, okay. Speaker 2 00:25:29 Um, it's yeah, the cold plunges and the, and I, then the saunas are like, I'm like, Speaker 3 00:25:34 I know Speaker 2 00:25:34 You're all about it. I, yeah, definitely. Like that's what that's on the, uh, you know, I know that's what I'm shooting for want. I want the outdoor sauna. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:25:41 I high friends in Kenny bunk court. Yeah. Um, it's his, his handles actually breath caught because he is all about the wind MOH. Yep. We showed up there to do a delivery cause he's doing a bone broth, um, cleanse like a reset. That's another thing that we can, you can do is just completely just do broth. I Speaker 4 00:25:57 Could see fast Speaker 3 00:25:57 System Speaker 2 00:25:58 Fast. Oh, Speaker 3 00:26:00 Here we go. Oh gosh. You guys talking about that? Oh Speaker 2 00:26:03 Yeah. You do Elizabeth all the time. Fasting that. Oh yeah. All week I a week. I've been trying to, I've been trying to get there. I'm building up to like a 24 hour 48 hours. Oh you go, there you go. Get it there. Oh my God Speaker 3 00:26:15 Guys. If I don't wanna be around there, Speaker 2 00:26:16 I can't fast. Speaker 4 00:26:17 That's not my, Speaker 3 00:26:18 But yeah. It's, it's um, part of that whole concept of recovering and restoring your body with fasting is the same thing. Uh, he has a in up there that we've done retreats Jen's been there. Yeah. And he, now we showed up and he has the portable sauna you want. Oh yeah. It's like on the trailer. Yeah. He comes, you get the it's incredible. Yeah. So one day for me too. Yeah. <laugh> Speaker 4 00:26:38 Yeah. So those are great. Speaker 3 00:26:40 So, and, and I think too, what I love is that you guys guys try it, the cool thing about broth and anything new or trending is just try it. Mm-hmm <affirmative> and see where it fits in. If it is, uh, you know, making a chicken soup with it and bringing it for lunch when the fall season hits, like you're just incorporating it in. Or if like me, I probably crank, you know, couple cups a day. Yeah. Or restoring and, and getting off the coffee. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:27:04 I'm waiting for the mushroom one. Yes. We'll get, we'll get that. So who did the, uh, who did the, the logo for the farmer Speaker 3 00:27:10 Market issue? Yeah. Yeah. Another, Speaker 2 00:27:11 Um, I love the hat. I love the color. I love the message. Speaker 3 00:27:14 So for the Hannover farmer market, yeah. SHD Susan Davis, another local small business. She's outta Norwell. She has created are a few of them for us, which we've been so lucky again. Um, she believes in the community, she, uh, works with other local businesses. And so she's been amazing. And then Jill Donlan, I give a shout out to her. She, the best friend from, since kindergarten went to Hanover with me. I knew she, I needed the brains behind this. I could get the troops, I could get the sponsors, but I needed someone to organize the farmer's market. So Jill then worked with Susan Davis to really launch the website, which we put all our sponsors on. If you Speaker 4 00:27:51 Check that it's a great website, you can go through and with all hyperlinks to all, all of these, there's gotta be at least 30 of them on here. I went through and looked. I spent a good two hours researching on every single one of them that was there. Just so I could prepare for the party. It was just too many prepared. Speaker 2 00:28:05 You could tell, you got, gotta be prepared. She's got pages. Speaker 4 00:28:07 I'm too scatterbrained. Otherwise man got Speaker 2 00:28:09 Pages of it. Elizabeth's like me. She's just wing outing. Right. I can't wing it. Website Speaker 3 00:28:14 Website. Yeah. She's like, I'll check it out later. Yeah, no, it's great. And, and I think what's neat is, um, between the sponsors being on there, we do a newsletter and we always, um, yeah, Speaker 4 00:28:25 We, we get it. We get it on the email. Uh, I was looking at that, this Speaker 3 00:28:28 I'm the recipe contributor. That's me Speaker 2 00:28:30 Puts it all Speaker 4 00:28:31 Together. Come from, Speaker 2 00:28:32 Of course I here. I was thinking you were doing this all by yourself. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:28:36 I, I got help. I, a lot of help, Speaker 4 00:28:37 Those Greek stuff. Peppers looked pretty good. That's Speaker 3 00:28:40 What I'm right. Yeah. Speaker 4 00:28:41 I was like, that might be, I try. Speaker 3 00:28:42 So, yeah. So I think you see a theme it's support community. Yeah. Get creative with, you know, um, being in community, see how you can help support, bring your business, your small business to light mm-hmm <affirmative> and, and obviously to connect with other people to see, you know, what they're doing, how they're doing things, how we can help. And when you text me even about this, it was an obvious. Yes. I mean, I had no idea. You had this set up. I didn't know. You guys are like this, we're Speaker 2 00:29:07 Getting Speaker 4 00:29:09 Better. Speaker 2 00:29:09 Each people wanna talk about frames. You know, I was like, talk about frames, talk about community. Speaker 4 00:29:13 Well, that's the thing, it's, it's a good thing for the community again, cuz the small business aspect is, is kind of what makes us different from everybody else. We have the time to focus on the individuals when they come in here and help them out for what they exactly need. I've worked corporate. I'll never go back to corporate mm-hmm it's terrible. <laugh> yeah. They just, this, the soul's gone. There's nothing there. They it's all about the dollar sign and keeping their businesses open here. If you know, helping somebody out by just repapering the back of a frame for them and it takes us five minutes. We're happy to help you do that. That's no problem. You know, if you wanna bring us 300 pieces of artwork that you're doing for a hotel sure. Bring us to 300 pieces of artwork for a hotel. Doesn't matter either way. We're happy to help. And that's, that's the thing, you know, Speaker 3 00:29:53 And you can feel that there's pride in that. You know, that's why we keep coming back in, in bringing Speaker 2 00:29:59 Business, we get framed some, uh, bone broth articles from social living. We had numerous, uh, numerous things from the, the hail uh, yeah. Speaker 3 00:30:08 Family. Speaker 2 00:30:10 Where did the name? Speaker 3 00:30:11 Uh, another good question. Uh, it's funny Speaker 2 00:30:14 That yeah. Speaker 3 00:30:15 Ha is not my last name. Yep. Smith is my maiden name. And so people are really confused and like, what is, what is your name? But the, the name hail stands for, um, an acronym that I created as my own mantra, which was healthy, accountable, living enjoyed. There's a balance. I still like food is my love language. So it's not like I'm always straight and narrow, but I think it's about being intentional. So if I have something like this, a tool or I really understand what's good for me, then there's a balance there. So healthy, accountable living enjoyed. But the word hail by definition means like strong. Yeah. So it's a, a big piece of my life and how I've had to kind of go get, you know, overcome obstacles. It was like, you just have to stay the course, stay strong. Even in C small businesses, running a business. Mm-hmm <affirmative> um, running a business with a spouse, like all the things and having a corporate job and having children. That's Speaker 4 00:31:09 The start of a family business. It's Speaker 2 00:31:10 Tough. You know, I'm glad to hear you guys are get still getting along. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:31:14 Oh yeah. That's day by day when he was in Gogos again, I think that was questionable. I was like, we, are we really doing this right now? Yeah. Like he's got the hair net on and oh geez. Yeah. Speaker 4 00:31:23 There you go. What's the experience and stuff right there. So, you know, it's good memories. Speaker 2 00:31:28 Is there, there are other people using the, the kitchen now Jonathan, a little bit from Speaker 3 00:31:33 Downtown. Yeah. Yeah. He's he's been around a long time. He does a great big catering business. Now there's a bunch of people out of there. So they've got that kitchen and, and for us, what we did is, um, we did find another facility that like I said could scale and they've been wonderful. They happen to be family own too. Uh, which was great. So it's kind of a theme mm-hmm <affirmative> but what we also, I, I can't believe, I haven't even mentioned, we couldn't do this without I'm at three markets tonight and my husband works at Alba. Yep. Hanover restaurant. And we have women, uh, this one woman, Linda that's been with us from the beginning. She, I thought it was a joke. She showed up at a Hanover mall farmer's market when the Hanover mall was still Speaker 4 00:32:12 Standing. I Speaker 3 00:32:12 Remember that. Yeah. And, um, she was like, I wanna work for you. And it was like, I thought it was a joke. I didn't even know what I was doing. She said, I wanna do markets. And she wasn't kidding. She kept showing up. She ran, uh, she was, the director, ran the Cohasset road race. Um, and she said, well, why don't you start by being a vendor here? And we hit it off. And she literally shows up Rainer shine to all our farmer's markets. She is the best. And then she helped me recruit our newest friend, Judy, who is, uh, also helping us. So these women, uh, again, it's like, they just, they show up and they are in their communities. Linda's from Cohasset, Judy lives in CIIT and they sell. I always say they sling broth all day long. <laugh> Speaker 4 00:32:53 That's great. I know. I'm definitely gonna pick some up to you for, I got a couple recipes in mind. I'm gonna grab it for it, for sure. I know what it get done for. Yeah, exactly. I'll see you guys on Speaker 3 00:33:01 Sunday, Sunday at the market Speaker 4 00:33:02 Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. Nice, Speaker 2 00:33:04 Nice. And the farmer farmer's market is going, does it go till November? November. Okay. Mm-hmm <affirmative> Speaker 4 00:33:10 Nice. Will be the late, late Speaker 3 00:33:11 Season. Yeah. Yeah. And those are the fun ones because you know, you have the pumpkins and pre holidays. I was gonna say the gifts. Yeah. It's so great to go in and support local and, and honestly set up your pucks. Why are Speaker 2 00:33:22 You not shooting? I know, I know. We need to get there food. You need to get the, the deck down there. Speaker 3 00:33:27 Yeah, you totally could. We have Joel Barrett too. He's another one. He does. Uh, he's a handover guy, principal. And he does the soft, uh, the baseball and softball. And I was like, go set up. Speaker 2 00:33:37 Yeah. Maybe we'll get, yeah, we'll get some, get some, uh, targets printed up there. Get the proper ones, Speaker 4 00:33:42 You know? Yeah. The Hawks are there too, right? Speaker 3 00:33:44 Yeah. The Hawks. Yeah. That's Speaker 4 00:33:45 Good. One there. I was surprised. I was like, really? I'm like, they're there too. I'm like, I Speaker 3 00:33:48 Guess that's again, which crushes my soul. That we're not Indians anymore, but we are now the handover Hawks, but my daughter knows no different. So it's just my soul. That's crushed on Speaker 4 00:33:57 There. Yeah. It's, it's a little bit of a change for everybody Speaker 3 00:33:59 On that. Situ. So we have the Hawks show up and now they have all their gear for back to school. So that will be Sunday. Nice. You know, another good one to mention is the, um, the Cardinal cushion. Yeah. We love them. They've been I, so they were, they, we, we give a community tent. So because you sponsor, you help us create a free atmosphere for a com another community table. Yeah. So we've sponsored Cardinal CU Kane. Their cafe is legit. They've got good coffee <laugh> and they've got these like lemon something bars that these kids make over there and they brought them and they sell out. And we, because you guys sponsor, it helps, um, bring in a community table. Uh, we've had the Hawks we've had, um, there was a land trust folks that on, on main street Hanover there trying to raise the money. Mm-hmm <affirmative> to keep the preserve the land. Sure. We were able to support, um, Speaker 2 00:34:49 Community. So where does somebody go if they want to get a table? Cause you know, maybe we should get, you know, maybe we should look at the schedule maybe more Speaker 3 00:34:55 Than PS. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:34:56 Maybe we'll bring a net down there. I'm trying to think of some products we could try to hustle down to the farmer's market. Speaker 3 00:35:01 100%. You can Speaker 2 00:35:02 Hustle some frame <laugh> yeah. The frame set of gear. I dunno. Try to sell some hats. I Speaker 4 00:35:07 Believe we were looking at mugs that Speaker 2 00:35:08 We were looking at. Oh yeah. Mugs. Speaker 3 00:35:10 Yeah. We do some Yas. Um, you can go on the website and you can put in an inquiry and Jill will, um, be she's our market manager. She will let you know if you can get a table. I think she might have a spot for you, but either way, if somebody did want, um, someone locally wanted to show up as a community table. Yeah. Um, you know, like we throw things out to like the girl Scouts or, um, you know, any sort of fundraising, uh, local charity ish. Uh, we are open to suggestions. Speaker 2 00:35:38 Well, we'll have to check the schedule. I mean, I'll see if maybe if we can get someone to man, the booth, we get the net down there, put us in a safe spot. You know, the end. I just say, remember PLX in one. Yeah. We're shooting PEX in one direction. Yeah. Yeah. I've seen Fe Taio down there in detail. Yeah. We could probably get, we could probably get him to shoot a couple PS, you know? Yeah, of course. That's a big, yeah. Big hockey fan, Speaker 3 00:35:59 John Fazio. He was so excited for the farmer's market. He was shopping, he got the sauce. He said, this is as good as my mom's sauce. It was so good to see him there. Yeah. We had a lot of, we saw, um, you know, it's funny cuz the teachers and just seeing the like old school teachers come through and seeing us on the Hanover school grounds and you know, even like the Scott Hutchson, he's a, uh, he was a handover graduate, but he's like, we have to deal with him on the athletic side of it. Yep. But he's so supportive. The town has been so supportive. Um, we really lucked out, I think even the board of health, you know, that's we have to follow a lot of regulations and they were just so happy with the way, you know, Jill does a really good job of keeping things organized. Yep. So we, that was the scary part they Speaker 2 00:36:39 Sports around like, Speaker 3 00:36:41 Yeah. So they just let us know one time we had to move or over to the middle school and it was again a be it was a great market. Yeah. We did a lot of just push to say like, Hey, the baseball teams were all, like, there was just a ton of events. Mm-hmm <affirmative> and that's what happens in like the football October and November season, but everybody pivoted and it was awesome. And I think we just had to buy a few more signs that we had to put up to put an arrow down to the middle school Speaker 4 00:37:04 Side. Yeah. I mean, it's a good again, touching on the community. Think people keeping, keep track of that. You know, if it's something they're looking forward to, is that that's, that's a good thing. It's Speaker 3 00:37:12 Not like, and if anybody's listening that likes it, just sharing the post, I'm sure you guys, you know, just, you know, when you're Speaker 2 00:37:18 Get the social media team that's right. You know, Elizabeth, Speaker 3 00:37:21 Like you get all it. Yeah. There you go. So just sharing the posts and sharing the videos I love when you do any sort of reels, those are comical. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:37:29 Well, you know, we do what we can try to keep people entertained, you know, keep, keep our name out there. That's right. Speaker 4 00:37:34 I appreciate. I know. But I think that's a, that's a great way to end this one there. Speaker 2 00:37:39 Yeah. Well I think it was great having you down here, Melissa. Maybe we'll, you know, we'll see if we, we could Speaker 3 00:37:44 Set this up at the booth. You could be interviewing. Speaker 2 00:37:46 Yeah. Speaker 3 00:37:47 As they come through. It's Speaker 2 00:37:48 Very true. Endless possibilities. Yeah. We can do a live. We could take this podcast. Elizabeth's Speaker 3 00:37:55 Like not on a sun. I'm good. Speaker 2 00:37:58 We'll see new Scott Head down there. Speaker 4 00:38:01 I I'm always free on Sunday. So there we go. Speaker 3 00:38:03 Problems. There we go. I think I can get your discount on some bone bros. Speaker 4 00:38:06 Oh, alright. And see, now we're speaking the language. Okay. There we go. <laugh> Speaker 2 00:38:09 Well is a pleasure having you down. I'm I'm psyched. You came down awesome. You know, next time we're shooting hot bucks. We'll see, we get that on camera and ice. Bath ice. Yeah. Ice bath. Speaker 3 00:38:19 Affordable. I can bring it out Speaker 4 00:38:20 Back. You go. Yeah. After a couple of shots. You Speaker 2 00:38:22 The Speaker 4 00:38:23 Cover show the, Speaker 2 00:38:24 Yeah. I mean I think people would wanna see that on a live video. Good Lord. Yeah. There. All right.
